Milwaukee County Zoo - pachyderm habitat renovations: squeeze cage design, massive cage doors needed to be opened and closed quickly so the elephants could be moved into the squeeze cage. When inside the elephant would be go through a routine check up, and shots applied if needed and then moved through. The cage doors and tracks needed to be very strong because the elephant can exert extreme force, especially when given a needle. Design solution through a variety of custom gears, chains, crank handles, rollers and tracks. 10 years later it is still in working order. Relocation of rhinoceros to a new area and old space converted to additional elephant space. These were some of my most cooperative clients.
